Lazy

May 16, 2008

I had Subway for lunch today, while I was out buying groceries. I rationalized it by thinking it would save me time slicing bread for a sandwich, after I got back to my place.

Wrong.

It was just laziness and, since the sandwich hit my stomach like a bowling ball, I’m even more sluggish than I was before.

Take a page from my book, kids: Don’t do Subway, because Subway always ends up doing you in the end.

So let me torment you a bit: How about a nice steak sandwich? Beef tenderloin, rare, sliced thinly, grilled quickly on a nice crusty baguette that has been coated with garlic butter. Several slabs of aged Provolone on top, a sprinkle Parmesan, and under the broiler for a few, just to melt the cheese!

Sound yummy?? Better than Subway huh??

Well, I haven’t had one of those steak beasties since you left but was thinking about one the other day. Have some fabulous rib eye in the freezer!

Restaurant food has become so unsatisfying, even if you pay a chunk of money for it. Not like what you prepare at home, is it??

Have a great weekend!! And no more Subway!!

    Okay, now that’s just mean.

Even making food here isn’t that great. We just don’t have the time to get fresh ingredients. We don’t have the tools to make most things. And we don’t plan ahead enough.

The only restaurant food I dig is Indian food. There’s something about sauce that’s made fresh by a real chef that blows away the stuff we’ve made and the stuff we get out of packages.

Any chance you’d send some cookies or something when Jon and Mom come? I missed my chocolate birthday cake this year…

    Sorry for the torture!!

I would love to send some goodies with them, you think about what you would like and I will whip it up (probably with Jonathan’s help).

We have started putting together a list of recipes for a cookbook and want to get your input on things to include.
I will e-mail you the list to date so you can add to it as you think of things. Then we will work on putting it all together.

The time is getting close for their trip to see you. Not much over a month now! Will be here sooner than you realize.

I would love to try the Indian food over there. We don’t eat Indian all that often and I am truly hungry for it!

When you come home, we can celebrate your 1/2 year birthday with a rockin’ chocolate cake!!
