The dog always eats my homework

I’ve started learning the chops that I need to write a Ruby clone of web.py. I’ve started a git repository for when I start coming up with code.

My goal for this project isn’t so much to build a production quality framework. Rather, I am using it to learn more Ruby and deepen my understanding of Python, and the associated knowledge I’ll have to plow through to accomplish the task.

  1. I was fooling around tonight, and came up with the following toy app: http://gist.github.com/10355

Of course, it’s not implemented, but I think we could build this on top of merb-core pretty easily.

  2. That’s pretty cool. I think we should do it.

I’m not sure there’s any market for it. But who cares?

Thanks for kickstarting an idea that had gone stale.

I’ll start bashing on it on Sunday or Monday, when I’ve recovered from moving back to the States from the UK.
